This 8 session Classical Tibetan course is designed for beginning students with no prior knowledge of classical Tibetan.
Tibetan is a unique language in that it was developed in the 7th century specically to translate the sacred Buddhist texts from India by meditator scholars. The study of Tibetan today can help one have a greater appreciation for the rich tradition of Buddhist texts and thought.
This course is taught by our resident translator Thubten Shastri. It will cover the Tibetan alphabet and foundations of Classical Tibetan grammar.
