Literacy advocate and best-selling author Donalyn Miller will share research and testimonials of the power of access to books for all students.

K-12

Children with access to books achieve at higher levels and experience greater engagement with reading. Unfortunately, too many children live in “book deserts” without meaningful, consistent access to books at school and home.

In this workshop, examine the current research on book access in schools, libraries, and homes; discuss intellectual and cultural access concerns including diversity and leveling; and explore resources and strategies for developing and sustaining high-quality, engaging library collections that support students’ reading lives. Session includes book talks of at least 40 new K-12 books of high interest to both students and educators.

ALL ATTENDEES WILL RECEIVE A COPY OF GAME CHANGER!

Coffee, pastries, and catered lunch will be provided.
