Coaching Skills for Ministry Virtual Seminar

“Coaching Skills for Ministry” is designed to equip pastors and ministry leaders with basic coaching skills that can be integrated and incorporated into their ministry setting.  Coach training can dramatically enhance the ministry leader’s effectiveness as a leader and greatly increase their impact within their faith community and the larger local community.  In addition, this training will prepare leaders to effectively coach each other in coaching partnerships among their peers.

Participants in this training will:

• Gain a strong understanding of coaching and the distinction between coaching and therapy, consulting and mentoring.
• Observe and debrief LIVE coaching sessions by the presenter.
• Learn core coaching skills that can be incorporated into their work setting.
• Have opportunities to practice these coaching skills and receive feedback.
• Experience a combination of coaching theory and practice.
• Learn a model for having a “coaching conversation.”
• Receive a complimentary coaching session with one of our coaches.
• Participate in a follow-up group coaching session 30 days after the training is completed. The intention is to provide support and accountability in the development of each participant.  A telephone conference call line will be used. 

1.5 CEU’s will be offered to those who have completed “Coaching Skills for Ministry.”

Leader: Dr. Larry Ousley  (Larry@LarryOusley.com) is the Executive Director of the Intentional Growth Center (IGC). Before coming to IGC in 2000, he served as senior pastor of three churches of over 1,000 members in the Holston Conference of the UMC. He is a life coach recognized through the International Coach Federation (ICF) as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) in 2004 and as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) in 2010.  Larry is also an Endorsed Life Coach by the United Methodist Endorsing Agency, is a Certified Organizational Relationship Systems Coach (ORSCC), and has served as a faculty member on an ICF approved international coaching school. He was an author in the anthology— Ministry 3.0: How Today’s Church Leaders are Using Coaching to Transform Ministry. Larry has lead approximately 10 long-term group leadership coaching projects and has over 1,500 hours of experience coaching pastors, district superintendents, and conference staff persons.
