Clay Holiday Ornaments - W11/29

Class Fee: $52 / $44 Studio Members + $10 supply fee at class
No Groupons or other pre-paid vouchers for this class.

You'll have three hours to create quite a few holiday ornaments and Mike will prepare the materials to make it easier for you. Bring ideas or use cut-outs and stencils provided in the class. After bique firing at a second appointment, you'll glaze and decorate your pieces for a second firing.

DISCLAIMER: The examples above were swiped from Google to offer possible examples.

Classes are small (limited to six participants) to provide indivudals the opportunity to receive special attention to work through ideas and processes. Tools are provided with three wheels, slab roller, ware boards and space to store your work before bisque firing.

Mike offers a six-week more in-depth course in pottery along with several project workshops.

About the Instructor, Mike Smieja:
"Growing up, pottery was my passion. I took a break for 15+ years and my path lead me back. The clay is the boss, I am just the grateful messenger."  - Zilla

I fell in love with making pottery in high school. I wanted to pursue it as a profession, but several people told me I would never make any money. After owning several businesses I found myself attending college for the first time when I was 32. After graduation I started a non-profit here in Minneapolis and set out to change the world. My path lead me back to a potters wheel and I fell in love again 20 years later, so I bought a wheel and a kiln and reinvented myself as a potter. I believe that my pottery embraces the changes that I have made in my life. I hope that my pots are just a vehicle to build relationships between people and places.
