Seismic Victory Oyster Roast

The January 6 denial of federal seismic testing permits by the Bureau of Ocean Management (BOEM) crowned a year of successful civic engagement and public interest advocacy.

30 years after its creation, ushered in by a landmark community's victory against the proposed siting of an oil refinery in Georgetown, SCELP is proud to be once again on the side of a winning and inspiring coalition of concerned citizens and advocates to stop offshore drilling and its industrial bedfellows.

Join the SCELP team, SODA friends and supporters and many other Don't Drill SC allies for a Sunday Oyster Roast at an iconic Charleston location in support of the South Carolina Environmental Law Project and to celebrate a seismic victory in the fight against offshore drilling in the Atlantic.

Tickets are $30 online (or in advance), $40 the day of the event.

No charge for children under 13

Enjoy live music, plentiful oysters, the best local beer, wine, chili and other treats while we begin celebrating 30 years of dedicated legal services in defense of South Carolina's natural environment. Take in the waterscape from Bowen's Island and meet up with veterans and new recruits in the ongoing fight to keep South Carolina beautiful, healthy and wild.

With our raffle and special gifts to be auctioned at the event, we might help you make your Valentine's Day even more memorable.

You can buy raffle tickets before checking out ($20 each).

This is a rain or shine event. In the case of dangerous weather that threatens the safety of participants or staff, SCELP reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event. In the event of a cancellation, there will be no refunds.

Thanks for your support and we look forward to seeing you on February 12th!
