Leveraging Key Partnerships

Please join us for the second session in our 5-part discussion series addressing how child welfare leaders have supported their workforce in building resiliency during the pandemic and how others can incorporate these strategies into child welfare organizational environments. This session will highlight the importance of leveraging partnerships when building staff resilience.

Laurence Nelson is director of training and professional development with the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services. In this role, Laurence is responsible for improving the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and practice of new and veteran staff through the implementation and delivery of competency-based training, coaching, and supervisory mentoring. Laurence is a graduate of the Title IV-E Child Welfare Education Program and holds a Master in Social Work from the University of Georgia. Laurence is no stranger to child welfare and supervision. Having spent the past 17 years with the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services, Laurence has served in the capacity of case manager, supervisor, administrator, training coordinator, data manager, and county director.
