Session 1: Interrupt Unconscious Bias - How it Makes Good Business $ense, January 21, 2022

Diversity means difference. Inclusion means that difference is welcomed. Have you thought about the impact these areas have on the pervasive labor shortages currently at play? What results would you have if your "equity lens" were guiding decisions? As a business leader, your role uniquely positions you to create a culture of inclusion through actionable strategies that can improve performance, innovation and employee engagement in very deliberate ways. We will explore unconscious bias and the actions and behaviors that interrupt or mitigate biases. You'll learn how bias, which is embedded in human decision making, can affect the business. As a result of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Define and gain a shared understanding of unconscious bias
  • identify the impact that unconscious bias has on the workplace
  • Identify and use strategies for disrupting unconscious bias

Session 2: Interrupt Unconscious Bias Learning Circle, February 18, 2022

Join us for this facilitated discussion about the prework article: Return to the Office? Some Women of Color Aren't Ready. Discussion will include reactions, key take aways, opportunities to apply the learning from January's "Interrupt Unconscious Bias" session and action planning. Learn from leaders, practitioners and employees tactics and strategies being used to mitigate bias. Ask questions, share stories and co problem-solve in a way that "crowd sources" the wisdom!
