International portrait artist, Leo Sarkisian, appears at Serengeti Gallery on Friday, September 19, 2014. He hosts an exclusive showing of his works from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Ambassadors to the continent of Africa, members of the press, and invited guests will attend to enjoy a collection of Sarkisian’s portraiture. In recognition of the evening’s guest of honor, a fifteen-piece portfolio of limited-edition giclees is released.
Throughout a professional career which carried him around the world, Sarkisian moved with his sketchbook, drawing the faces of people he met, oftentimes musicians with their instruments. Said the Voice of America, “in all of Sarkisian’s works, he has frozen a moment of truth for the viewer”. At the age of 93, Sarkisian remains a citizen of the world and a true friend of Africa.
