Register NOW for the Annual Eenhoorn 5K Run Walk for a world without MG.
Myasthenia Gravis (MG) is an often misunderstood and under-diagnosed disease, which strikes people of all ages, races and genders. Currently, there is no known cure, but there are treatments to assist those affected.
The goal of this event is to raise funds to support those with MG and their families through information, awareness and medical assistance.
MG is an autoimmune neuromuscular disease that affects voluntary muscles. Myasthenia gravis means "grave muscle weakness." Symptoms include weakness in the muscles that control eye movements and eyelids, chewing, swallowing, coughing, facial expressions, arm and leg movements and breathing. The prevalence of MG is estimated to affect 20 in every 100,000 people in Michigan. As a rare disease, it is frequently under-diagnosed due to the fact that its symptoms are similar to other disorders.
The event is open to the public.
Event t-shirt and lunch will be given to each participant.
There will also be ticketed prizes, a prize for the largest team and the team that brings in the most money.
