Join shelters, rescues, & animal control workers, veterinarians, students, volunteers, policy makers, and compassionate community members to learn ways to save lives in your community by implementing the No Kill strategy. Speakers will include Nathan Winograd (No Kill Advocacy Center), Don Cleary (National Canine Research Council), and Stacey Coleman (Animal Farm Foundation).
In addition to introducing the new Michigan Rescue Certification program, the conference will offer sessions on reducing shelter intake, increasing adoptions through innovative marketing, implementing TNR programs, and other facets of the No Kill Equation. Success stories from several shelters around the state will be shared.
Veterinarian focused sessions will be offered on compassion fatigue, Safe Humane Chicago, and building relationshipsbetween veterinarians and animal control.
The 2012 Awards Program and Banquet will be held Thursday evening to recognize shelters with the best save rates in the state.
Early registration of ONLY $79 includes the FREE bonus of the Thursday September 20th Welcome and Opening session, discussion of Michigan's current animal-related legislation, and break-out sessions with the three key speakers. Student and groups discounts will be offered.
