The purpose of this presentation is to describe a coaching process designed to support co-teaching. Specifically, in this training we will review the definition of co-teaching, the most frequently used co-teaching models, and the essential components of co-teaching. Then, the presenter will describe a 5-step process that provides a framework for implementing specially designed instruction (SDI) and evidence-based practices into co-taught classes. In addition, we will discuss how co-teaching can be evaluated in ways that provide feedback and support for co-teachers so they may improve co-teaching practice.
