De-escalation and Workplace Safety

Mike Arrajj, RN is presenting "De-escalation Training and Workplace Safety". This training is for providers who work with adults, children, youth and families, and any community organizations and businesses who interact with the public.

Frontline and retail staff face a difficult responsibility when responding to situations where there is a threat of violence. This training prepares staff to respond to those situations using verbal techniques that will de-escalate the situation.

Guidelines for self-care and awareness, assessment and communication techniques, and a plan for team intervention will be covered.

Participants in this training will have the opportunity to learn:

  • Why people get violent with each other
  • How to safely talk to someone who is upset and potentially dangerous
  • About the role of teamwork in potentially dangerous situations
  • How emotions effect how potentially dangerous situations resolve

Cost: $37

Payment can be made using your credit/debit card.
