Strengthening public and patient engagement in biobanking - developing plans for action

Patient and public involvement is now recognised as an increasingly important and integral aspect of research design, development and delivery.

Are biobanks getting patient and public involvement in research right ?

Is there more to be done?

What can we learn from others?

Join the debate at the 'Strengthening public and patient engagement in biobanking - developing plans for action'  workshop on Wednesday 18 June 2014, in Cardiff.

The event will give the opportunity for biobanks to share best practise, and to hear how other groups approach raising awareness and public engagement.  It will also give patients the chance to communicate their views and express how they would like to increase their involvement with biobanks around the UK.  Several groups will share their strategies and methods for public engagement to see if there are learning opportunities for the biobanking community.  A round table session will allow these and other ideas to be discussed with a view to formulating an action plan that biobanks could adopt, tailor and implement locally.
