Intended audience: Parents, family members, educators, and agency personnel.
All parents want to do what's best for their child and being able to advocate for your child is what parents have to do whether their child is gifted, average, or has special needs. When a child has a disability, the world becomes a lot more complicated and confusing. This workshop will shed light on the world of Special Education. Participants will learn about agencies and organizations that can help them navigate the special education maze. They will also receive information and resources from many sources that relate to Birth to 3, Early Childhood, Communication between Home and School, Evaluations, Individualized Education Programs, and Transition. Participants will leave knowing that they are not alone and that gathering information and keeping organized are two important steps to being able to more effectively advocate for your child.
