Environmental Education PD Series
Step Outside and Into Engagement:
Outdoor Classroom Leadership

Harness the benefits of the most interactive instruction possible: learning on school grounds, outside the four walls of the classroom. This workshop is designed to provide teachers with:

  • training in conducting class outside on any type of school grounds in order to engage and inspire students
  • guidelines, rules, safety considerations, resources and handouts
  • classroom management practices that fit within existing PBIS models and are specific to   the outdoors
  • time for collaboration and lesson planning

Recommended for K-12 teachers. *Dress for the possibility of going outside.

All workshop participants will receive:

  • ready-to-use hands-on lessons, Student and Teacher manuals, and other supporting resources and experiences
  • evidence for teaching environmental education and technology education
  • a certificate of participation from the Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education upon successful completion of each workshop
  • substitute reimbursement of $125 through UW Stevens Point
