 The Future is Bright: Keys to Successful Transition Information for Families

Learning Outcomes:

  • This session will focus on helping students find Community Based Integrated Employment support needed. Agencies and programs that support Community Based Integrated Employment such as Project SEARCH, Job Corps, CEO, Goodwill, Easter Seals, Pantheon Industries, Workforce Development Center and WI FACETS will be invited to present to participants.
  • This session will also feature resources to promote self-advocacy in the Post-Secondary Transition Plan (PTP) and an explanation of the PTP process.
  • In addition, changes to service delivery with Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) will be discussed with participants.

There is NO charge for this event, but registration is required.   Dinner will be provided.

Audience
For parents supporting youth (14-21) in transition.   All families who have a student with a disability are welcome to attend.

This workshop is supported by the Wisconsin Statewide Parent-Educator Initiative (WSPEI) grant and Transition Improvement Grant (TIG)
