What Are the Three C's of Premise?

Please join us for the next "Write Here, Write Now"

Creative Writing Workshop Saturday 4/14 (2-4PM).

Screenwriters and Novelists: To set a forest on fire, you light a match. To set a character on fire, you put him/her in conflict. Whether you've watched The Godfather, The Wizard of Oz or A Christmas Carol, you've escaped into a story where the main character is put to a test. Watching what they will do under dire circumstances keeps you riveted, right? The premise of a story is the simple statement of what happens to the characters as the result of the core conflict in the story. Learn how to build a premise that is clear and concise.

All writers are welcome (beginner to professional, ages 18 - 95) and all genres are welcome (fiction, non-fiction, screenplays, children's books and poetry.) The workshops are open to the public and are $30 per person for a 2-hour session. Bring a friend! We meet second Saturdays in the private room at the Great Northern Panera.

Take a minute to put these important dates in your calendar now for the Group Workshops. Individual Coaching is also available.

2012 Group Workshop schedule:
 4/14/12 = 2-4PM
5/12/12 = 2-4PM;  6/9/12 = 2-4PM; 7/14/12 = 2-4PM;
8/11/12 = 2-4PM; 9/8/12 = 2-4PM; 10/13/12 = 2-4PM;
11/10/12 = 2-4PM; 12/8/12 = 2-4PM

Individual Coaching Sessions will also be available and scheduled on a per person basis ($50/session). This is perfect for the writer that wants to make progress quickly (or if Saturdays don't fit into your schedule). Weekdays, evenings and weekends are available for these sessions.

If writing isn't your cup of tea, please feel free to pass this on to someone who might be interested!
