"A Symphony of Scars"
The Highland Gallery is pleased to host the opening reception for the new exhibit "Symphony of Scars" welcoming the photography of Liz Relin. Her work will be on display at the Highland Gallery from January 10th to March 12th. We will be serving light appetizers and a special selection of wines.
A Word from the Artist:
My work is about observation of quirky things: beauty in decay, small details and the passage of time and seasons. Maybe a picture was once worth a thousand words; with the proliferation of photographic images, that value has shifted. The photographs in this series are named with titles or lines from songs that are important to me. In the midst of this image revolution I’ve concluded that pictures do not speak for themselves, and that words – direct or indirect – are important to the viewing of photographs.
