Rochester Education Foundation

Your support enables REF to help city students succeed! With your help, we:

  • Encourage student literacy with book clubs, parent-student reading events and books for student home libraries through our Give Back, Give Books and Teachers' Choice programs,
  • Provide valuable paid summer work opportunities for youth at local companies through our summer internship program,
  • Promote college access for city students through the community coalition, Rochester College Access Network,
  • Support student music opportunities - we've donated more than 1,000 musical instruments to students since 2005 and provided performance and education opportunities,
  • Offer Last Dollar Grants to Monroe High School graduates, thanks to members of the Monroe High School Classes of 1960 and 1963,
  • Sponsor unique programs throughout city schools, ranging from musical mentoring at Dr. Charles T. Lunsford STEM Academy School No.19, resource support at the Dr. Walter Cooper Academy School No. 10 and outdoor learning at Joseph C. Wilson Magnet High School,
  • Get things done! We have helped offer teacher training in partnership with a funder, prepared a community report on College Readiness and provided student "Birthday Books" at a single school.
A TOAST TO REF AND OUR PARTNERS is Rochester Education Foundation's annual fundraising event that celebrates REF's accomplishments in 2013-14 and the tangible differences that businesses, organizations, faith communities, and individuals can make in the lives of our city schoolchildren.
