ROCHESTER EDUCATION FOUNDATION

Your support enables REF to help city students succeed! With your help, we:

  • Encourage student literacy with book clubs, parent-student reading events and books for student home libraries through our Give Back, Give Books and Teachers' Choice programs,
  • Promote college access for city students through the community coalition, Rochester College Access Network, FAFSA Fest, and college visits for 10th graders.
  • Support student music opportunities - we've donated more than 1,700 musical instruments to students since 2005 and provided performance and education opportunities,
  • Offer grants and scholarships to college-going seniors -- Last-Dollar Grants to Monroe High School graduates thanks to the Monroe High School Classes of 1960 and 1963; the Pat Braus Founder's Award Scholarship to a high school senior who has shown exemplary service to his or her community thanks to the REF Board of Directors;  and the Vincent Fazio Scholarship to an Edison student thanks to friends of math teacher Vincent Fazio.
  • Sponsor unique programs throughout city schools, ranging from resource support at the Dr. Walter Cooper Academy School No. 10 and outdoor learning at Joseph C. Wilson Magnet High School.
  • Get things done! We are currently supporting the development of vegetable gardens at School No. 45 and World of Inquiry School.
