The National Spasmodic Dysphonia Association invites you to attend the 2019 NSDA Symposium on Saturday, April 27, in Boston, MA! We will be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the NSDA. Join us for fellowship, education, and fun. The event will host some of the leading experts in the field of spasmodic dysphonia and related voice conditions while providing the opportunity to meet others who share a similar experience.

What can you expect if you attend this meeting?

  • Meeting others and sharing YOUR story about living with a voice condition at the Welcome Party on Friday evening prior to the symposium, and, if a first-time attendee, sign up for the SD Ambassador Program;
  • Updates on the latest developments, including cutting-edge research, on spasmodic dysphonia from experts in the fields of laryngology and speech and language pathology;
  • Your questions answered during panel discussions with the medical presenters.
  • Participate in research studies for spasmodic dysphonia.
  • Launch of the new NSDA book, Celebrating Our Voice.

After a day of learning, relax with us on Saturday evening for an optional dinner after the symposium. Plan to stay longer and explore Boston with us! We have an optional City Tour of Boston on Sunday morning. And then in the afternoon, take in a baseball game at historic Fenway Park with the 2018 World Series Champions Boston Red Sox!

Research Opportunities
There will be ample of opportunities to interact with scientists working on discovering the causes and mechanisms of spasmodic dysphonia as well as to directly participate in research studies benefiting the understanding of this disorder and the development of new treatment options while attending the symposium. More information will be provided to interested attendees after registration.

Saturday Dinner
Join us as we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the NSDA with an optional dinner at the Hilton Hotel. The cost for dinner is $65.

Sunday Morning City Tour of Boston
Our Beantown Trolley will pick us up at 9:00 am at the hotel and take us on an tour of the Freedtrail with photos stops along way along including Copley Square, the Navy Yard, and Fenway Park. Our driver will share fun facts and the history of Boston. The tour will last around two hours.

Red Sox Baseball Game 
The 2018 World Series Champs are in town on Sunday, April 28, and we hope you join us as watch the Red Sox take on the Tampa Bay Rays at 1:05 PM on Sunday, April 28, at historic Fenway Park. 

Hotel Information
The meeting will be held at the Hitlon Boston Logan Airport located at One Boston Drive in Boston.

No worries about the airport location as soundproofed windows and plush bedding provide a restful night’s stay for travelers. Wifi is included in the rate. Special breakfast vouchers are available for $24.55 at the Hilton restaurant. Other features include: 

  • Ride or walk via the enclosed sky bridge to our Logan Airport hotel
  • 10 minutes from downtown Boston via taxi or water taxi
  • 24-hour courtesy bus to all airport terminals, subway and water taxi

Transportation
The closest airport is the Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)After landing at Boston's Logan International Airport, there are two options to reach the Hilton Boston Logan Airport. The Hilton is connected directly to Terminals A and E via a covered sky bridge, a five-minute walk to the hotel.  You may also contact the hotel directly by text or calling 617-681-8899 to enjoy complimentary shuttle pick-up service from all four of Logan International Airport's terminals. Walking from terminals B and C is possible, if you are unfamiliar with the airport, please contact the hotel directly to enjoy the convenience of our complimentary shuttle service.

From the Airport by Hilton Shuttle: Follow signs to baggage claim area. Go out to the curbside area marked ''courtesy buses.'' The Hilton shuttle will arrive within 15 minutes or less of your request. Questions? Text or call 617-681-8899.

Walking From the Airport Terminals: Terminals A & E - From Terminal A & E follow signs for ''bridge to central parking'' and ''pedestrian bridge.'' Take this walkway until the parking elevators. Proceed to second floor and into the Hilton Hotel via sky bridge.

From Terminals B & C: Proceed to terminals A & E and follow signs for ''bridge to central parking'' and ''pedestrian bridge.'' Take this walkway until the parking elevators. Proceed to second floor and into the Hilton Hotel via sky bridge. (The Hilton shuttle is suggested for more convenient service.) 

From the Subway Station: Call text or call that hotel at 617-681-8899 to request Shuttle Service.

Hotel Parking
Self-parking at the hotel is $15 per day for both hotel guests and attendees of the conference. 

Dress
Casual attire is appropriate for the symposium. Since the hotel is air-conditioned, bringing a sweater or jacket is advisable. We cannot control the temperature in the meeting rooms.

NSDA Ambassador Program
NSDA Symposiums provide a wonderful opportunity to connect with others living with spasmodic dysphonia. For first-time attendees, we host an NSDA Ambassador Program. We will try to match people of similar experience with another experienced attendee to help answer questions and be a “point-person” at the symposium. If you have been to a NSDA Symposium or similar type meeting, we encourage you to sign up to be an Ambassador on the registration form. A follow-up survey will be sent to you after you register with additional details.
