About the Event

Conference Goal
The goal of this FREE continuing education activity is to present the learner with current information regarding stillbirth   diagnosis and testing, including placental pathology and autopsy, in order to inform evidence based practice so the learner will be able to promote understanding causes and prevention of future stillbirth; and to introduce strategies so the learner can achieve a greater  sensitivity and increased comfort level in communicating with and supporting parents following a fetal demise.

Objectives

As a result of attending this continuing education program, participants will be able to:

  • Incorporate a multi-disciplinary approach in determining the cause of a fetal demise.
  • Develop a strategy to educate patients as to the benefits of fetal autopsy.
  • Apply recommendations regarding placental examination and pathology testing to the learner’s practice.
  • Develop a strategy to promote the provision of supportive and compassionate care to grieving parents while encouraging stillbirth evaluation and discussing evaluation results.
