4th Annual 5K Fundraiser
Freedom Fellowship Church is hosting our 4th annual 5K fundraiser at Leesylvania State Park on Saturday, July 12, 2014. Join us in changing lives in our community and in our world for the better. Again this year, we focus our efforts in three specific areas: partnering with Care Net Pregnancy Resource Centers, supporting a missionary family serving in the Far East, and providing clean water for people across the world with Water 10:42.
All race expenses have been underwritten by the generous donation of a corporate sponsor. 100% of all monies collected this year through the Mission 5K will go directly to the above recipients. All participants have the choice of earmarking their registration fee and/or donation to a particular recipient or multiple recipients.

The main event will be a 5K race through Leesylvania State Park, along Potomac Trail and the lower Lee's Woods Trail. There will also be a 1K kids' Fun Run, as well as activities for kids. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers and random participants. Early registration is $35 per adult, $15 per student. In addition to race registration fee, there will be a $5 park entrance fee on the morning of the race.
What's New This Year?
The 5K course has been refined again. This year, it will be a straight "out and back" course on a road surface, wide enough for a park vehicle.

The first mile will be run on the Potomac Trail. Participants will pass through the marina parking lot, and be visible to spectators in the activity field as they run adjacent to the Potomac River as in previous years. The second mile will be run on the lower Lee's Woods Trail ranger access road. The final mile will be run on the Potomac Trail and marina parking lot as runners retrace their steps.
What to Expect on Race Day
Park opens at 6am. There is a $5 weekend entrance fee. The speed limit is 25mph inside the park. It will take you 3 to 5 minutes to drive from the gate to the parking lot.

There are several parking areas. The map at left shows driving directions to the parking area closest to the Start/Finish line. The parking areas adjacent to the "Woodbridge Sailing School" are much larger.
The 5K Race will begin at 8:00am with the awards ceremony immediately afterward. Prizes will be given to top 2 finishers, men and women. Prizes will also be given by random selection.
Kids' KM will begin after 5K Awards Ceremony. Estimated time is 9:00am. An adult course official will lead the children. Parents may run with their children. Kids' Award Ceremony will begin immediately afterward. Prices will be given to top 2 finishers.

$35 ages 18 and up ($45 after June 12)
$10 ages 13 to 17 ($15 after June 12)
$10 ages 12 and under (FREE if adult registered 5K)
Online registration will end at 12pm NOON on Friday, July 11. Walk-in registration will begin at 7am on Saturday, July 12.
In addition to the registration fee of $45, there will be a $5 weekend rate park entrance fee, collected at the gate by Leesylvania State Park staff.

Event Activities:
During the adult 5K race, fun activities for children and adults will be available, including face painting, relay races, games, and water balloons.
Park Ammenities:
There is a variety of play equipment adjacent to the activity field, including two playgrounds, a swingset, a set of monkey bars, and a novel see-saw of sorts.

Last year, we hosted our 3rd annual 5K run/walk fundraiser
at Leesylvania State Park. Over 100 runners registered for the event and we raised over $5000 for local and overseas missions!!! Thank you VA Runner, Race Timing Unlimited, ScoutFoto, and Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center for coming out and helping us make this event a success!!!
