The conference will begin with a cocktail reception on Thursday evening, September 26th, on the Jones Day rooftop overlooking the Capitol. Bus transportation will be provided from and to the hotel. For those interested in playing golf on Thursday morning, there has been a change in the venue owing to the need for the golf outing to be completed in time for the 3 p.m. NAFUSA board meeting. The outing will take place in Arlington, VA at the Army Navy Country Club, with the first tee time at 8 a.m. The cost is a 10-minute cab ride from the hotel, and cab sharing or a van can be organized once we determine how many are playing. If you are interested in playing please send an email to Jeff Taylor at Jeffrey.A.Taylor@Raytheon.com no later than COB Friday, August 31, 2013. Spouses and sponsors are welcome to play, too.

On Friday morning President Jay Stephens will call the conference to order and Ronald Machen, the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia will welcome us to Washington. Following the traditional roundhouse introduction of members, a panels are planned on the False Claims Act and National Security and Surveillance, with Charlie Savage of The New York Times moderating. Lunch will be served at the JW Marriott, with comments from Michael Isikoff of NBC. On Friday afternoon, NAFUSA members will be invited to spend the afternoon at the Department of Justice where we will meet with senior DOJ officials. On Friday evening, various Adminstration classes will hold their reunions.

Saturday morning's CLE program will include the presentaton of the J. Michael Bradford Award to the AUSA of the year, a panel on criminal litigation ethics and a panel on the Supreme Court, moderated by Pete Williams of NBC and featuring NAFUSA member Ted Olson and Carter Phillips.
