Highland Park VIRTUAL 5K Turkey Trot

As we approach what would be the 9th Annual Turkey Trot, we reflect on how this race has become an important tradition for our families, our friends and our community.  Although we obviously can’t run a community race on Thanksgiving Day, or share a Bloody Mary with all of you, we want you to know that we continue to celebrate the tradition that we’ve built together.

For some diehard runners, part of the tradition is collecting the race t-shirts every year.  With that in mind, we’ve designed a special 2020 shirt for sale.  Because everyone is experiencing this difficult time in different ways, it doesn’t seem appropriate to charge extra for the shirts, so we will make them available at cost.  We simply want the tradition to continue.  Please buy a shirt and find a time on Thanksgiving weekend to run about 3 miles and have a Bloody Mary afterwards. Toast family, community and tradition and then post pictures on Facebook -don't forget to tag us!

Please also take a minute to celebrate your involvement in a race that has raised over $100,000 for charities in the last 9 years.  Cheers to you and your families.
For those of you who would like your own tradition of giving to continue, there is also a link below to donate to the three charities that typically benefit from your participation, Highland Catholic School, Highland Friendship Club and The Neighborhood House Food Shelf.  Please send us an email and specify if you would like your donation to go to a specific charity.

We wish you a happy and healthy holiday season. See you next year.
