10:00AM – 11:00PM LPR Technology
Off-street parking managers have traditionally had to choose between an inconvenient customer experience, in which drivers are forced to stop when accessing and leaving parking installations, and deploying a large enforcement team across parking installations in the hopes of catching violators before they leave. This session will present attendees with a new free-flow off-street parking management approach, which merges the benefits of unobstructed parking lot access with the high compliance and efficient enforcement of gated lots, enabled by the rise of the License Plate Enabled Parking. Join Chris Yigit, Business Development Manager for AutoVu , as he outlines the principles and technologies employed by parking leaders to increase customer satisfaction while decreasing equipment and maintenance costs in off-street parking lot installations, its impact on installation profitability and customer satisfaction. In this session, the presentation hall will be converted into a “virtual” parking lot where the merits of the technology will be demonstrated live. The goal of this session will be to provide attendees with a clear understanding of the advantages and inconveniences of both parking management approaches, and enable them to evaluate the potential impact on their operations of a gate-less pay-by-plate system.
Speaker: Chris Yigit, Business Development Manager for AutoVu, Genetec

11:15 AM – 12:15 PM Parking Charrette – City of Phoenix On-Street Parking System
The City of Phoenix has a burgeoning downtown area and that brings parking to the forefront. Faced with an unprecedented demand for off street parking spaces from potential incoming businesses as well as wide ranging opinions on how to manage on street parking, the downtown parking climate of Phoenix is changing rapidly. The city has been conducting a public outreach campaign, gathering input from downtown stakeholders and is hoping to get YOUR input as parking professionals on how to structure a parking plan that supports the needs of this exciting revitalization process. Participants will hear an outline of the history, layout and current issues with on and off street parking in Downtown Phoenix, then will break into groups to craft a proposed parking plan outline that will meet the needs of the city. Each group will present their ideas at the close of the session and the City of Phoenix will have some excellent ideas from the parking brain trust.
