SCORE Boston Workshop: Developing a Startup Budget for Your Small Business

Launching a New Business?

A Startup Budget can help you get off to a good start.

Launching a new business can be an invigorating experience. However, getting caught up in the excitement and neglecting the details may lead to failure. Overspending and running out of cash are very common mistakes. A realistic Startup Budget helps the entrepreneur stay on track and progress toward the ultimate goal.

Learn what startup costs are and how to operate your business before you have income.

Before the workshop, we will send you a template to download on to your laptop.  You can try it out before the workshop or wait until that day. Either way, review the template and start to think about what you will need for your business.  If you don’t want to bring your laptop, no problem. A handout of the template will be provided for you to make handwritten notes and fill in the blanks.

If you are willing to put in the effort, you could walk away with the foundation of your startup budget.  And a key piece of your business plan!

This workshop is sponsored by SCORE Boston and is presented by SCORE Mentor Gloria Spence.  Gloria was Director of Finance for the Northeast Region of Hearst Television. She has extensive expertise and interest in working with clients to set up and analyze their financial statements, with the goal of improving their business.
