SCORE Boston Workshop: Understanding Your Financial Reports

Want to run your business better and make more money??

For many start up and small business owners understanding financial reports is not high on their to-do list. It can be hard for business owners to find or make the time to read their financial statements. Many highly intelligent business owners have little training or experience in interpreting numbers from a financial statement, so they may not understand them or understand their importance.

We get that…… But understanding your financial reports is essential for your short term and long term success. You don’t have to be an expert, you don’t even have to be number savvy. You do need to understand the basics and which key numbers you need to look at regularly.

This workshop will walk you through four financial reports: Budget, Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow. We will help you understand why they are important and how to discover vital information that can help you run your business better and make more money.

This workshop is sponsored by SCORE Boston and the East Boston Public Library. It will be presented by SCORE Mentor Gloria Spence.

Gloria was Director of Finance for the Northeast Region of Hearst Television. She has extensive expertise and interest in working with clients to set up and analyze their financial statements, with the goal of improving their business.
