Presenting PowerPoint Over Zoom Keep People Focused on Your Message, Not the Slides

As activities become increasingly “virtual,” information we used to share in person is now often exchanged using Zoom or other forms of video-conferencing. It's great if everything works, but awkward if presentation mechanics distract from your message.

This live session looks at PowerPoint and Zoom features you can use to enhance live, on-screen presentations, and deliver them seamlessly.

We will demonstrate and explain:

•How to use PowerPoint to enhance your presentation;
• How to get ready for the presentation;
• How to set up your computer and PowerPoint for the presentation;
• The proper way to share a PowerPoint slide show over Zoom;
• Navigating between PowerPoint and Zoom during your presentation;
• The difference between PowerPoint transitions and animation, and how you can use them to enhance your presentation and highlight key points;
• The use of PowerPoint’s built in laser pointer, magnifying glass and annotation features while presenting;
• PowerPoint’s “Presenter View” and using two monitors during the presentation;
• How to use Zoom’s whiteboard; and
• Zoom settings needed to share PowerPoint audio and video.

There will be plenty of time for questions, so come prepared. We will be doing another webinar on building PowerPoint animations and transitions, and including video and audio to keep your audience engaged and highlight key points.

Presenter: Gerald Rosenthal, He is the founder of ComputerImages, a Boston-based software training and consulting firm, and has been using Excel since the program debuted as Macintosh only software in 1985. His professional training is in law and finance, and he describes himself as essentially a low-tech person. His interest in computers focuses more on how they can help people work smarter and better, rather than their technology.
