PROFESSIONAL DIVISION MASTER CLASSES! 
A series of exciting webinars taught by leading Chicago artists
on diverse facets and focuses of professional theatre-making. 

 

Taught by Chicago-area professionals, this collection of Master Classes will engage in conversations about making a thoughtful, successful, and fulfilling career in theatre.  From negotiating contracts to casting, from designing sets to exploring directing processes, from auditions to taxes, this series features a wide range of perspectives and topics that provide insight into every corner of professional theatre-making. 

Each workshop features a 45 minute presentation followed by a 45 minute live question and answer session. We encourage all Illinois theatre-makers to attend each course to engage in dialogue across disciplines, levels, and abilities to enhance collaboration, but especially early career and emerging artists.

A Master Class with Lavina Jadhwani

Join us for a conversation with Lavina Jadhwani (director/former casting director/adaptor) and Gaby Labotka (multidisciplinary theatre artist andChair of ITA's Professional Division) about identity conscious work -- beginning from the casting/design process, into rehearsal, and evolving all the way through previews. We will discuss the ethos of identity conscious work in general as well as explore some specific examples, before a question and answer session. 

45 minute discussion via Zoom Webinar with Q&A to follow.
