The Supreme Cork
A Wine Tasting and Silent Auction Event
Members of the Family Law Committee of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia are hosting the Eighth (8th) Annual “Supreme Cork” wine tasting and silent auction. The event will take place on the evening of Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 5 Seasons Brewing Company Westside.
This year’s Supreme Cork will benefit the Guardian ad Litem Program and the Safe Families Office of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF). AVLF’s Guardian ad Litem Program provides attorney volunteers, trained and supervised by AVLF, to serve as Guardians for children from low-income households in contested custody cases. The Safe Families Office provides legal and safety planning assistance on a walk-in basis at the Fulton County Courthouse to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking.

There not much time left to donate before the cost of attending rises to $50! The cost of attendance will increase from $40 to $50 October 16, 2013 and online donations will close. If you miss your opportunity to make your donation by October 16, you can make your $50.00 donation upon arriving to the 5 Seasons Brewery.
Our Goal
AVLF’s need for financial assistance from private sources has never been more acute. AVLF works hard to ensure that quality, free legal resources are available to the citizens of Fulton County who are eligible for their services, but, realistically, their ability to do same will always be directly related to their ability to raise private funds.
For this year’s Supreme Cork, our fundraising goal is $20,000 and 200 donors to help spread the word about the importance of this program and contribute to the success of the Guardian ad Litem Program and the Safe Families Office.
