Writers Unite to Fight Cancer (WUFC) will hold an Arizona Centennial Cancer Research Fundraiser on Thursday Evening, February 2nd, 2012 from 6:30 PM until 9:30 PM at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix, AZ (2400 E. Missouri Ave. 85016). Two Arizona-based cancer research programs will receive 50 % each of the net proceeds from this event: (1) University of Arizona Cancer Center natural products research Program directed by Dr. Leslie Gunatilaka and (2) Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) project in collaboration with Arizona State University (ASU) under the direction of Robert Waters PhD.
Celebrate Arizona's 100th birthday with authors who have come together to battle cancer. They will sign and sell their books at this event and donate $1.00 per book sold toward the above cancer research programs. The first 160 guests to arrive at the event will receive a copy of Five to Thrive by Lise Alschuler, ND and Karolyn Gazella in their complimentary Gift Bags. The rest of the guests will receive another book about cancer or signed book from one of the authors participating in the event. Gift bags will also contain vendor samples, coupons and educational materials on prevention and treatment options for cancer as well as cancer resources.

The silent auction includes but is not limited to donated items such as original artwork, quilts, Sports event tickets and personally autographed books by award winning authors, celebrities and doctors.
Live musical entertainment will be provided by Jocelyn Obermeyer, certified therapeutic harp practitioner from Hospice of the Valley, while guests browse the author and vendor tables and place bids on silent auction items. Light refreshments from the Arizona Biltmore Catering Chef will be provided.
