In February of this year, the SEC approved FINRA's proposed amendment to the Customer Account Information rule and created the new Financial Exploitation of Specified Adults rule, both of which take effect February 5, 2018.   Please join us as representatives from the PA Department of Banking and Securities address this timely and ever-growing problem.  You will learn how to recognize financial exploitation and learn the steps to take when abuse of elderly clients is suspected.  You will learn:
  • Explaining the benefits of reporting - when it is required, why the issue is important
  • Building an understanding of what reporting is permitted under relevant privacy laws
  • Identifying common red flags for senior financial exploitation
  • Developing a proper internal protocol and action steps for reporting
Bob is a retired marine corps officer with 21 years active duty, worked 15 years as a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch and managed $250 million in client assets.  He has been with the PA Department of Banking and Securities for 2 years.  Donna's career began in a CPA firm in Baltimore, MD.  She has a BS in Accounting from Towson University and has the combined experience of accounting and protective services to bring to the presentation.
