One of AAUW’s core missions is to promote equity for women and girls through advocacy. As AAUW members we are all concerned with the federal, state and local policies that affect girls, women and families. While AAUW does not endorse candidates we are keenly interested in supporting legislation and policy that advances our mission.
Our luncheon program for October will be a Candidates’ Forum to help us understand our potential representatives positions on issues relevant to girls and women. Candidates for four key local positions have been invited to take part in a question and answer program moderated by Jeannette Johnson, PhD., our AAUW Public Policy and Legislative Advocacy Chair.
We ask you to do two things. One – show up!!! This is an important year and an important luncheon for us to continue to work to effect change in Southern Utah. Two, please send any questions you would like the candidates to address to k_koeber@ml.com by September 22. We cannot promise inclusion of your particular query but we will do our best to include the questions on the areas of greatest interest to you.
Thank you. See you there!
