- Dental providers have the unique opportunity to diagnose and monitor oral health problems in its early stages
- Patients who smoke are nearly twice as likely to need root canal treatment
- Tobacco use decreases the effectiveness of treatment for gum disease
On Saturday, June 22, 2019, join us for a dental provider education event. Dr. Larry Williams, DDS, MPH will be presenting on the Oral Health Effects of Tobacco Use and Opioid Awareness. Dr. Williams currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Tobacco Cessation Subcommittee for the Illinois Tobacco Prevention and Control State Plan Work Group, and is a Board Member for the Skokie, Illinois Board of Health. Resources on local and statewide tobacco cessation will also be shared.
