Start the holiday right with a party!! This will be a great opportunity to mingle with friends and enjoy some delicious food, wine, beer and other beverages provided by Sports Basement! In addition, guests will receive 20% off of their holiday shopping at Sports Basement that evening and they can even give some needy kids and families some gifts too! Here's how:

The SF Fog Rugby Club is using this opportunity to support the Mission SRO Collaborative that works under the Dolores Street Community Services Nonprofit. In the spirit of giving, we are collecting gifts for kids ages 3 – 18 years old to be donated to over 35 families living in SROs in San Francisco! During the evening, guests will receive a 20% discount on all purchases for themselves as well as items they purchase to help these families. How cool is that!

In addition, you can bring an unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots bin and help put a smile on a kid's face this holiday!

Everyone is invited!!! Tell your friends, your boss, your softball team, your non-igrab trader rugby team, your yoga teacher, your family (you get the picture!)  Bring one. Bring all!

Please RSVP through the link below by Wednesday, November 28 so we have a good head count to give to the Sports Basement. This is going to be a fabulous event so please make every effort to attend, have fun with your rugger brothers and sisters, and help some needy families at the same time!

More info about Mission SRO Collaborative:
The San Francisco Unified School District as well as the Human Services Agency of San Francisco estimate that there are roughly 930 children living in Single Room Occupancy hotels all over San Francisco and that of these roughly 150 living in San Francisco’s Mission District. Since many of the families living these hotels represent some of the most disenfranchised communities in San Francisco: immigrants, the extremely poor, single parent households, and monolingual individuals, they often find themselves subject to landlord exploitation, and exceptionally poor living conditions. The SRO Families Collaborative, a program of The Mission SRO Collaborative and Dolores Street Community Services, works with these families and more specifically the children of these families by; providing social services (referrals to services such as: food stamps, health care, school services and clothing), monitoring landlord compliance with citywide building codes, and offering leadership opportunities to both parents and children of these families. Our program is the only one of its kind in San Francisco and without our services, many of the individuals and families living in these SRO’s might go otherwise unnoticed, further isolating them from the outside world and amplifying the themes of disenfranchisement so prevalent in their lives..
