For Love of the Ancestors:

A Celebration for All Saints/All Souls Day

Join Mythica for a two day online festival of story, art, music and ritual in celebration of the ancestors. On All Saint's Day, cultural historian Kayleen Asbo will share the French Legends of the Boat of Bethany: Mary Magdalene's arrival on the shores of Provence with her brother Lazarus and sister Martha as they carried the bones of Jesus's grandmother, Saint Anne. Catherine Braslavksy will lead us in Medieval music written in celebration of this community of pilgrim saints and we will explore the Celtic origins and traditions for these Holy Days during the "time when the veils between worlds are thin".

On Tuesday, the "Day of the Dead", artist Emily Grieves will zoom from Mexico to share the ancient Indigenous Axtec roots of the story of La Llorna, the Weeping Woman  whobmourns for her lsot children; Kate Munger (founder of the Threshold Choir) teaches us simple chants and iconographer and ritual specialist Sue Ellen Parkinson leads us in a creative arts practice to connect to our own ancestors as we hold their memory close to our hearts.

This two day event is available on a sliding scale from $30 (reduced tution) to $180 (Patron donation of tuition for self +  scholarship for another) and includes access to a video recording for later viewing and downloading. If you are in deeper financial need, please write to mythicafoundation@gmail.com and we will be happy to offer you a scholarship.
