Don "DC" Curry Comedy For a Cause 

The The Improv Denver, Victory Productions and Athletics & Beyond present Comedy for a Cause with comedian DC Curry Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Improv.

Don "DC" Curry headlines Tommy T's Comedy House. He's best known for playing Uncle Elroy Jones in the hit films Next Friday and Friday After Next. He's a regular guest and former host on BET's Comic View, who's also been seen on HBO's Def Comedy Jam and his own half-hour special on Comedy Central. As an actor, he's had regular roles on TV Grace under Fire and The Steve Harvey Show, and a guest voice on the animated hit The Boondocks. Don's outspoken comedy style made him a star at San Francisco's comedy clubs starting in the '90s, and the winner of the 1996 Bay Area Black Comedy Competition in Oakland.

Athletics& Beyond focuses on four programming areas; athletic development, educational success, life skill building and career options. Initially, A&B focused primarily on developing students’ athletic abilities but it became quite clear that our students were lacking the skills to succeed in college and in life. The reality was they were not connecting academics, life skills, community engagement and career development with their athletic ability. Over the past three years, we have developed our programs so they meet the needs of the students beyond athletics.
