Virtual Community Braille Course

"Just Enough to Know Better"

The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind is excited to present the Virtual Beginning Braille Course for parents/guardians of children who are blind/visually impaired (B/VI) and learning Braille. This class will provide an opportunity to learn the basics of braille and give you the background information to move into more advanced braille classes, if desired or needed.

This online beginner braille course is FREE for eligible Florida residents.

Who is this braille course for? Parents, families, care-givers, neighbors, and community members working with students and wanting to learn Braille.

Why attend these braille classes? To help your child, your friend, your parents, your co-worker, or to just learn something new for yourself.

Where are the classes? Classes will be held virtually (You'll recieve a link to attend the class after you register).

When are these classes? Classes start Wednesday, September 14, 2022 and will meet every Wednesday through October 26, 2022.

• Wednesday, September 14, 2022  from 6:00PM-7:00PM (EST) live and/or recorded content

• Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 6:00PM-7:00PM EST

• Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 6:00PM-7:00PM EST

• Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 6:00PM-7:00PM EST

• Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 6:00PM-7:00PM EST

• Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 6:00PM-7:00PM EST

• Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 6:00PM-7:00PM EST

*Note: Each week lessons will be designed for parent/guardians using the RESOURCES AND MATERIALS SENT which will be provided free of charge to each registarnt to particpate in the Virtual Beginning Braille Course intended for adults(not students).
