Youth Hip Hop Green Dinner

Your invited to join us for a FREE healthy dinner along with National speakers and Hip Hop performers.

The Youth Hip Hop Green Dinners serve as a unique way to reach out to the community to deliver a vegan dining experience geared towards urban youth and young people who identify with Hip Hop culture.

The dinners are designed to be a perfect combination ofinformation and entertainment. By breaking bread and sharing information in a relaxed and entertaining environment, the Hip HopGreen Dinners help youth and their families make the connectionbetween their diet, lifestyle, health and educational achievement.

The National Congress of Black Women, Inc. (NCBW) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the educational, political, economic and cultural development of African American Women and their families. 

An expert on politics, women’s rights, foreign a­ffairs, human rights and diversity, Dr. E. Faye Williams, Esq. is a woman of many trades and talents. She is PRESIDENT/CEO of Natural Health Options (NHO) where she acquired the exclusive rights to natural products created by Dr. George Washington Carver; she continues to be a leader in the women’s movement and catalyst for social change


Ashel Eldridge aka Seasunz

AshEl Eldridge aka Seasunz, originally from Chicago, now residing in Oakland, is a frontman emcee, vocalist, producer, and the founder of Earth Amplified, a multimedia collective and spiritual activist movement dedicated to social justice, equity, and environmental stewardship. AshEL is also the Northern California Education and Leadership Manager with the Alliance for Climate Education and a Green For All Fellow. He is a co-founder of United Roots – Oakland’s Green Youth Arts and Media Center and the founder of SOS Juice. S.O.S (System out of our System) Juice is a monthly urban culture and health event series and a revenue generating non-profit that sells juice, smoothies, and tonics creating health, sustainable agriculture, and green jobs. He is currently working to create Urban Fx (Farmacy), a vegan café/store, supplied by its own commercial kitchen/distribution facility that creates community resiliency through an agricultural infrastructure that sells locally sourced foods and healing products.

 

Lauren Ornelas

lauren Ornelas is the founder/director of Food Empowerment Project (F.E.P.), a vegan food justice nonprofit seeking to create a more just world by helping consumers recognize the power of their food choices. F.E.P. works in solidarity with farm workers, advocates for chocolate not sourced from the worst forms of child labor, and focuses on access to healthy foods in communities of color and low-income communities. While lauren was the director of Viva!USA, she investigated factory farms and ran consumer campaigns. In cooperation with activists across the country, she persuaded Trader Joe’s to stop selling all duck meat and was the spark that got the founder of Whole Foods Market to become a vegan. She also helped halt the construction of an industrial dairy operation in California.  She served as campaign director with the Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition for six years. DJ Cavem Motivation


Straight out the garden, representing the Historic Five Points, DJ Cavem is an O.G.: Organic Gardener, “teachin’ HIP HOP history and how to grow greens” and not the ones you roll. He is HIP HOP: Higher Inner Peace, Helping Other People, an award winning activist, TED Talks speaker, founder of the Brown Suga Youth Festival, a Green For All Fellow, B-Boy and Midwife.

This Vegan chef is producing more than just beets; harvesting three albums: “Deep Rokc”, “The Teacher’s Lounge” and “The Produce Section”. He is on Itune’s working with Dead Prez, Umi, Digable Planets, KRS-One, Rebel Diaz and Bun B just to name a few. He has played with artists such as Talib Kweli, Dead Prez, Les Nubians, K’naan, Gil Scott-Heron, and has performed internationally in Burkina Faso, Paris, London, and Amsterdam. ”
