Description

On April 15 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM PST BreastfeedLA presents Integrating Infant Mental Health Into Your Lactation Practice, a live webinar featuring Hope Wills, MA, RD, CSP, IBCLC.  In this session, Hope Wills will explore core principles of Infant Mental Health and how they align with lactation practice.  Using a case-based format, participants will learn how to integrate these models into clinical practice.  Ms. Wills will explore Dr. Perry's Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, Dr. Berry Brazelton's Touchpoints Approach, and Drs. Glkerson and Gray's Fussy Baby work. 

Participants will be awarded 1.5 L-CERPS & 2 Contact Hours.

Two hours of CE credit are available for behavioral health attendees who are present for the entire live program.

Objectives:

By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to: 
  • List 3 key principles within infant mental health
  • Describe how those principles align with lactation practice
  • Articulate at least one strategy that they can include in their practice.

Speaker

  

Hope Wills, MA, RD, CSP, IBCLC, received her BS in Food & Dietetics at CSU Long Beach in 1986, and her MA in Counseling at CSU Dominguez Hills in 2002.  She became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in 1993 and an IBCLC in 2015. She serves as a pediatric dietitian and lactation consultant at a local pediatric hospital. She provides service in both disciplines in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.

After the webinar a recording will be sent to all registrants to view for up to 3 years, therefore no refunds will be granted. It is the responsibility of the participant to view the recording while it is available. 

Payment Policy

Payment must be made during the time of online registration using a credit or debit card. If you need to make alternate payment arrangements such as a company check to be mailed to BreastfeedLA, you MUST pay the General Registration rate and contact info@breastfeedla.org. No Early Bird registration rates will apply to payments by check. This policy is in effect as of Aug 1, 2017.

Continuing Education Credits

RN: BreastfeedLA is an approved provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing. This course offers 2 contact hour of continuing education. BreastfeedLA’s provider number is CEP 16435. Licensee must maintain certificate for a period of four years.

IBCLC: BreastfeedLA is an approved Long-Term Provider by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners #CLT113-36. 1.5 L-CERPs will be awarded.

RDs & OTs: Maintain a copy of the agenda and certificate for CPEs for Professional Development Portfolio.

Psychologists: Two hours of CE credit are available for attendees who are present for the entire live program. We ask that all participants return the post-program evaluation form at the conclusion of the program. This training is sponsored by Maternal Mental Health NOW, a project of Community Partners. Maternal Mental Health NOW is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Maternal Mental Health NOW maintains responsibility for this program and its content. It is the licensees responsibility to retain this Certificate of Attendance for a period of four years after the course date. There is no known commercial support for this program.
