2022 Field Trip - Memphis & Charleston Railroad

We are covering the Charleston and Memphis Railroad that came through Huntsville; The Round Table’s annual field trip is scheduled for Saturday, October 30, 2021. Participants will gather on October 29th, time TBD at the Historic Huntsville Train/Railroad Depot (320 Church Street NW, Huntsville, AL 35801).

Expected time of return is TBD. On this field trip we'll examine critical railroad points between Chattanooga and Huntsville, learning about how the Huntsville depot and its train network played a major role in Civil War logistics in the area. It is another adventure with Brigadier General (Ret) John Scales leading and narrating the day tour.

Numbers matter. A minimum number of 20 participants guarantees a seat @ $90. Handouts, water and ice provided. General Scales will present an overview of the trip in September.

Field Trip Reservation Policy

Reservations can be made online at tvcwrt.org, in person at a Round Table meeting, or by mailing a check made payable to the Tennessee Valley Civil War Round Table to P.O Box 2872, Huntsville, AL 35804.

Cost is $90 per person to cover the bus rental. Lunch is NOT included, please bring a lunch or money to cover lunch when we stop.
