for female cancer survivors 

... is a one day self-discovery and empowerment retreat inspired by equine assisted learning and the book, Beautiful You: A Daily Guide to Radical Self-Acceptance.  Offered at Triple Play Farm in Davidson and led by certified equine specialist Kris Batchelor and author/educator Rosie Molinary, participants will enjoy equine assisted learning activities, journaling, guided discussion, yoga, and art to facilitate self-discovery and embrace self-acceptance. 
With a focus on authentic living, the core activities of the day will give participants practical and inspirational tools to more fully enjoy lives of their own imagining.  Participants will enjoy a tranquil setting at Triple Play Farm, a beautiful private equine therapy facility and morning goodies, lunch, and afternoon snacks with an antioxidant themed menu will be provided by Finding Tasty.  
Hope.Human.Horses. is a practical and inspirational day that provides adult female cancer survivors support and motivation in a non-judgmental, rejuvenating environment. Space is limited to 18 participants.

Registration is $189.00 (includes lunch, snacks, a signed copy of Beautiful You, and a Triple Play Farm shirt) until September 20.  
A minimum of 12 participants are needed to confirm the retreat.    
    
Facilitator biographies:
Kris Batchelor has been involved with animal assisted therapies since 1998.  She has owned two therapy dogs and created the local Hug a Pug program.  She has also taught therapeutic riding to adults with traumatic brain injury and children with a variety of disabilities.  She is certified by both PATH Intl. and EAGALA as an equine specialist in mental health and learning and currently serves on a national PATH certification committee for the profession. Creating Triple Play Farm has been the culmination of a dream to create a tranquil setting where animals play a key role in teaching us about ourselves.  The farm works with local therapists and civic organizations to provide mental health and learning services for individuals, families and groups.  Past clients include Community School of Davidson, Carolinas Healthcare, and Enterpro Services STC.
Rosie Molinary has been leading workshops and retreats for more than ten years.  An author, speaker, and educator with a focus on authentic living, she specializes in encouraging individuals to explore, integrate, and solidify their voices in order to empower them with their own truth, confidence, hope, passion and action.  Rosie's book, Beautiful You: A Daily Guide to Radical Self Acceptance, was published in October 2010 by Seal Press.  Hijas Americanas, her book on Latinas coming of age in America, was published by Seal Press in June 2007.
