  2. Completing the pre-course qualifications, details are below.
  3. Complete the NRA Basic Pistol Instructor Led (in person) training.
  4. Attending and completing the entire course.

  8. Paying the NRA processing and registration fees (The two-year registration fees are $30 for current NRA members and $50 for non-NRA members).

Course Goal: To develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the knowledge, skill, and attitude necessary to conduct the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course.

Special Offer:

If you're not an NRA member yet or if you want to renew your NRA membership, Armed2Defend runs a promotion where if you sign up through us, you not only receive $10 off your membership but you also get entered into a contest to win an $1100 Kimber Ultra Carry II 1911 pistol package. As an Instructor candidate, you will want to be an NRA member because it will save you $20 on the NRA instructor fees and it might also reduce the NRA's Instructor application processing time. Just sign up through Armed2Defend's website or in this class. Armed2Defend is currently 1st in the nation as a NRA member recruiter in the instructor category.

We will be on the range for a few hours on Monday, please dress for the weather. The range is covered but not enclosed.

No gun and ammunition are allowed in the classroom.

Registration Payment Options:

The NRA Pistol Instructor Candidate Training Class Fee is only $250, and it includes all of the course material needed for the day. It does not cover lunch, NRA instructor registration fees ($30 for NRA members or $50 for non-NRA members), pistol usage, and ammunition. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required for registration and it is specific for the class date that you are registering for. Switching dates, cancelations, or no shows result in deposit forfeiture. Rescheduling requires a new $50 deposit payment. Also, if a candidate is unable to complete the pre-course qualifications before the class date, the deposit is also forfeited. The remaining paid class fees can be refunded or applied to a future class date.

You have two registration payment options:

  1. Prepay the $250 class fee in whole. This option includes the $50 non-refundable deposit. The remainder $200 is refundable and transferable.
  2. Pay only the $50 non-refundable deposit and pay the remaining $200 at the class ($250 total fee).

If you are rescheduling, then you will need to pay the non-refundable deposit again. If you already paid the class fee, please make a comment in the comment box when registering as to what class date you previously paid for so that we can apply that payment towards your current class date, you will still need to pay the $50 non-refundable deposit to finalize registration. Absolutely no exceptions are made for refunding the non-refundable deposit.

If you choose to mail a check or money order as payment, payment must be received before registration can be completed. Returned checks are subject to a fee.

Pre-Qualification Steps:

The list of pre-qualification steps are in this packet. Please be sure to review these steps.

We will do a working lunch so you have the choice of packing a lunch or you can purchase the lunch option. I will provide drinks and snacks. Food and drink selections can be made when registering or at the classroom.

Registration Tips:

Please register using your name as you want it on your certificate. Each participant has to register and pay separately.

A unique email address is required for each registrant. If you do not have an email address, make up an address using @none.com for the domain. Before the class, we will send class updates through email and after the class we occasionally send law updates and other valuable concealed carry information.

Shooting Range:

The shooting range is an outdoor private range in Canal Winchester. We will end the day Monday at the range. The actual range address will be given at the class. It is about a 6-minute drive from the classroom. Please dress appropriate for the weather. Do not bring your firearm into the classroom. Bring your pistol, 100 rounds of ammunition (more if you need to qualify), and range safety equipment on Monday to use on the range.
