An afternoon workshop that will help program directors and faculty guide residents and fellows in their quality improvement projects. 

This "train-the-trainer" course will cover several topics:
1)  Review of IHI Model for Improvement, 7 Steps, 7 Tools and QI Macro
2)  IHI QI Essentials Template
3)  Directing Residents and Fellows on their QI Projects
4)  The Ethics of Using Quality Improvement Methods in Healthcare

Course Objectives:
1)  Teach residents to perform QI projects as scholarly activity using IHI Model for Improvement and the Seven Steps Method
2)  Teach residetns to use QI tolls on an excel-based add on program
3)  Describe how to apply flowchart and mind map using a web-based program
4)  Guide residents to align QI projects with institutional goals and priorities using a logic model
