Certified Lay Minister Training
Greetings with Joy!
We are completely redesigning our Education program for Certified Lay Ministers through the newly created Bishop Jack and Marjorie Tuell Center for Leadership Excellence.
After completion of all CLM education requirements and continued advanced classes, I will consider giving limited Sacramental Authority to those CLMs who do not have access to an Elder in their appointments. We will be explaining all of this at our major CLM Training of all current and new CLMs scheduled for September 10-13, 2012 at Wesley Homes in Des Moines, WA.
If you are a current or new CLM, we are asking you to participate in a newly designed CLM Basic Training program to enhance your education and ministry effectiveness. All current CLMs are asked to complete this new program in order to keep your certification process active. Without attendance at this new basic course, and additional advanced work, CLMs will not be able to participate in the limited Sacramental rights, and also continue to work in a church appointment.
Please reserve these dates in order to take advantage of this new educational opportunity. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Gretchen at 800-755-7710 Ext. 310.
Please plan on being present at this major training, and we look forward to working with you.
Blessings,
Grant Hagiya
COST: $50
We are trying to make the CLM training as low cost as possible. In order to accomplish this, we are asking those who might have friends or relatives in the greater Des Moines area to consider staying with them during the training. If that is not possible, we will be offering rooms at a nearby hotel, however, we will be requiring double occupancy. If you must have a single room, we will ask you to pay the difference.
Those traveling from east of the mountains should consider arriving on Sunday, Sept. 9th and departing Friday, Sept. 14th . We will reimburse mileage at 14¢ per mile. Those who feel that they must fly, please contact Gretchen to let her know.
Lunches and dinners will be covered as well as snacks, coffee, tea and soft drinks. Breakfast will not be provided at the training, but is included at the hotel. The conference office is close to a Safeway, QFC and many small restaurants.
