Young Adult Spring Retreat!

We invite all of the college aged folks around the PNW Conference to join us for a weekend retreat at Lazy F camp. The weekend will be filled with rest, worship, bonding, and new experiences. We will be exploring the themes found in Barbara Brown Taylor’s new book, “Learning to Walk in the Dark” for instance, that we need darkness just as much as we need light.

“The problem is this: when, despite all my best efforts, the lights have gone off in my life, plunging me into the kind of darkness that turns my knees to water, I have not died. The monsters have not dragged me out of bed and taken me back to their lair. Instead, I have learned things in the dark that i could never have learned in the light, things that have saved my life over and over again, so that there is really only one logical conclusion. I need darkness as much as I need light.”

Come and explore what it means to walk in the dark. It’s sure to be a refreshing and meaningful weekend. We encourage you to read her book before you come, but it isn’t necessary to participate in the retreat. Also, childcare will not be provided.

So mark your calendars. The retreat is open to all young adults aged 18-25, is planned by our campus ministries, and supported by the PNW Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry. Registration and coordinating support for the retreat is provided by the Office of Connectional Ministries.

Retreat Cost
Regular registration for the Spring Retreat is $90. This includes two nights of lodging, four meals (3 on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday) and snacks. Scholarships are also available (details below) to help to keep cost from being a prohibitive factor. Additional assistance may also be available from your church or campus ministry so please check with them if help is needed.

Scholarship Information
It is important to us that everyone who would like to come to the retreat is able to come. We have worked hard to plan a good retreat and we are confident that it will be a great weekend. Please register early and pay the rate you can afford so we can help as many people as possible!

The Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry is sponsoring $25 and $50 scholarships for students at any institution of higher education who need financial assistance to attend this retreat. If your church or campus ministry is paying part or all of the remaining registration costs, please select the check option and confirm things with the person responsible there.

Partial Student Scholarship$65 after $25 scholarship.
1/2 Student Scholarship: $45 after $45 scholarship.
