Who’s walking in the woods? Join the Shrewsbury Conservation Commission and the Vermont Woodlands Association on this 3-hour workshop, Saturday, March 10th, from 10am-1pm. Learn the tracks and signs of many common Vermont mammals that you may find in the Shrewsbury area from Ed Sharron, a National Park Service Science Communication Specialist based in Woodstock. We may spot tracks of fisher, red fox, bobcat, and many more possible surprise guest as we trek across old wood roads up to the Pinnacle.
We will begin the workshop with an indoor discussion, and then head outdoors to put your new skills to the test. All ages are welcome! Please dress appropriately for the weather, and water, snacks, and snowshoes, footwear traction, or trekking poles. If you need snowshoes, let us know so we can help you source some.
$10 Suggested Donation. Registration required as space is limited. The workshop is free and for all ages. To register, or for more information contact Silvia at info@vermontwoodlands.org or call 802-747-7900. The event will meet at the Shrewsbury Meeting House, 88 Lottery Rd, Shrewsbury, VT 05738.
