Uniform Sweater Workshop
For those of you who have been intimidated by sweater knitting or would like to tweak the skills you already have, we have put together a fantastic workshop for you!
We are teaming up with expert instructor Renee Jones and Uniform: Knit & Sew to bring you the ultimate sweater knitting workshop. This workshop takes you through the entire process, covering everything from gauge swatching, the anatomy of a top-down sweater, how to achieve desired fit, picking up stitches, buttonholes, finishing techniques and blocking. Renee will also talk about what fibers work best and how to care for your new cardigan.
This workshop will be held for 8 sessions beginning in March and ending in May. Students will receive individualized attention in every session attended so you may work at your own pace. We recommend a minimum of 4 sessions for each student, with the option to purchase more sessions individually if needed as the workshop progresses. As sessions fill up, registration will be closed for those specific dates. We recommend signing up early to reserve the dates you want.
The 4-session workshop fee of $110 includes the Uniform: Knit & Sew book, which will help guide you through a top-down cardigan using either fingering/sport or worsted weight yarn, and includes numerous body, sleeve, hem, and finishing options. Renee will provide hard copies of additional handouts to further understand sweater anatomy, details about how to take measurements, information on blocking, and more. She will also be available throughout the workshop via text and email if additional help is needed.
Our Uniform Sweater Workshop takes place on Saturday afternoons from 3-5pm on these dates:
March 16th, 23th, and 30th
April 13th and 20th
May 4th, 11th and 18th
We will contact you to reserve your 4 dates upon receipt of your registration. Students will receive 10% off yarn used for the workshop. Yarn can be chosen any time between your sign-up and your first session. Knowledge of the knit and purl stitch are required for this workshop, but once you have these basics down, you are ready to take this workshop, so register below!
