Diagnosis and Remediation of Learning Problems in Mathematics with Professor Mahesh Sharma

For general and special education teachers 

This highly specialized 5-day graduate course will provide teachers with a solid understanding of how children learn mathematics, what causes learning problems in mathematics, how to diagnose these learning problems, how to develop a plan for remediation, and how to teach milestones of mathematics content (number conceptualization, place value, fractions, integers, algebraic thinking and spatial sense). This course will help teachers develop the conceptual knowledge needed to implement the Common Core State Standards.  Professor Sharma will model lessons that span all grade levels. Course fee: 1,199.00 (includes e-materials, continental breakfast and lunch); $1099.00 if registered and paid with credit card by June 18, 2018.   Please inquire about multiple teacher discount for teams of four or more.  Three graduate credits available for an additional $255.00. Check made payable to New England College is due on the first day of class.

Language, Literacy, & Learning has opportunities for a limited number of students ages 7-14 who struggle with mathematics to participate in tutoring with Professor Sharma. The tutoring is free. A deposit of $75 is required to secure a spot. The fee with be returned on the final day of the program.

Professor Mahesh Sharma is the former President and Professor ofMahesh

Mathematics Education at Cambridge College. He is the founder and President of the Center for Teaching/Learning Mathematics of Wellesley, MA. Internationally known for his groundbreaking work in mathematics education, he is an author, teacher, trainer, researcher and consultant to public and private schools.

Cancellation Policy: A full refund will be made 30 days prior to the beginnng of the course. Cancellation 15-29 days will incur a $350 cancellation fee. No refund will be issued for cancellation 0-14 days. Substitutions may be made. Please notify LLL in writing (Trainings@LLLCenter.net) with the name of alternate participant.
